This module introduces students to the design and conception of events. It provides an insight into the staging and dramaturgy of events. The theoretical foundations are applied in a practical event project.

- Remark on the assessment methods
The portfolio examination comprises 100 points and consists of a presentation (PR) and a written project report (PSC). The PR and the PSC are each weighted with 50 points.
- Exam duration and scope
Written project report: approx. 10-15 pages.
Presentation: approx. 30-45 minutes
The requirements are specified in the respective lectures.

- Knowledge Broadening
Students who have successfully completed this module know creative techniques in order to design "experiential worlds" as part of an event. They are able to analyse and apply basic dramaturgical elements. They know how to support the communication goals of a company or brand by using different dramaturgical methods and techniques.
- Knowledge deepening
The students master the use of different scenographic means such as: Light (choice of spotlights, light alignments, light-dark contrasts, moving images and projections), sound and sound effects (sound technology, dramaturgical structure of music and video elements), space and equipment (architecture and design, stages, hall design in compliance corporate design).
- Knowledge Understanding
Students are able to use, coordinate and apply scenographic means in a practical project.
- Application and Transfer
Students are able to use event concepts, developed dramaturgical approaches and known scenographic means in the execution of an event and to create a balance of the means used.
- Academic Innovation
Current industry innovations in the field of event technology and temporary media-significant event types and forms of presentation can be used and tested in the development of the practical projects.
- Communication and Cooperation
Students are able to present the developed concepts in a structured way. They are able to abstract concrete events and concepts with regard to the learned methodologies as well as to transfer abstract event ideas into concrete realizable event concepts. They are able to stage emotional and dramaturgical worlds of experience in order to sustainably support the communication goals of the company or brand through the event.
- Academic Self-Conception / Professionalism
Students are able to reflect on the communication goals of the company or the event, taking into account the means used. They are aware of the interaction of the methods and means used and are able to carry out dedicated analyses with regard to the qualitative and quantitative impact of these means in relation to the event.
