The bachelor thesis marks the completion of the students' studies. It integrates the subject-specific and interdisciplinary learning outcomes of all modules of the degree programme. Through the examination of a specific topic, the students can demonstrate their academic competences and the extensive knowledge gained since they started their degree. 

Independent academic work on a specific topic relevant to practice (if possible related to the event industry or related industries), including  

• independent organisation of the work process
• drawing on topic-related sources and scientific literature
• demonstrating competences in academic writing
• critically discussing and reviewing related findings

The total workload for the module is 360 hours (see also "ECTS credit points and grading").

• Final Degree Thesis and Final Oral Examination

Bachelor thesis: approx. 40-50 pages (12,000 - 15,000 words)

Colloquium: approx. 30-45 minutes

Successful commencement and completion of the internship

Students who have successfully completed this module

• are able to expand on a broad knowledge and practice-related foundation gained during their studies.
• are able to independently plan and write the thesis with regard to the various requirements of the degree programme and taking into account time restrictions and word limitations.
• can put theoretical and practical knowledge related to the field of event management (and related fields) into a written form in an articulated manner.

Students who have successfully completed this module are able to 

• demonstrate subject and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills.
• review and summarise important literature pertaining to their topic.
• formulate a clear research question pertaining to their work.

Students who have successfully completed this module 

• are able to critically assess the results of their project in terms of its theoretical and practical relevance.
• convert assessments into recommendations and identify possibilities for implementation.

Students who have successfully completed this module are able to clarify, structure and critically evaluate

• the methods and procedures used,
• the overall context,
• the results achieved,

both in writing and orally, and in a foreign language.

Students who have successfully completed this module can apply the instrumental knowledge acquired during their studies to achieve satisfying results, i.e. they can

• collect and interpret required data.
• apply subject-specific scientific methods, models and concepts and transfer them to a new context.
• elaborate on recent research findings in event research and they can transfer and apply these findings in practice. 

Students who have succesfully completed this module can present, discuss and defend the content of their thesis, including the most important results and resulting implications

Students who have successfully completed this module can justify the social, cultural and economic relevance of events beyond their own work. They demonstrate a factual-critical, responsible and professional attitude and justify their actions with theoretical and methodological knowledge.
