Brief description

Each of the three disciplines of singing, dance and acting is demanding in concept and application, with different artistic and technical requirements, so there is a danger that a student's natural talent in one of the subjects will overshadow their serious efforts in the others. The “all-round” presentation is the focus of this module.  In the Creative Lab, students should be strengthened in their understanding of movement, play and music as a unit.

Teaching and learning outcomes

1. Focus on creative processes within the genre.
2. Developing representational concepts.
3. Use of the self within creative processes.
4. Experiencing relationships between language and music or song.
5. Use of the voice.
6. Physical support.
7. Emotionality and singing.
8. Dealing with the “artificiality of the stage situation”.
9. Imagination.
