Admission Requirements
Previous Degree
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the area of Design or a neighboring discipline that includes a design methodology, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Mechanical Engineering.
English Language Proficiency
The Master's program is taught entirely in English. Applicants, therefore, must demonstrate English language proficiency at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
If your native language is not English, you can demonstrate proficiency by submitting one of the following language tests:
- Cambridge Certificate with a minimum score of B2 First
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 5.5
- Pearson PTE Academic with a minimum score of 59
- telc with a minimum score of B2
- TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 72/120
- TOEFL PBT with a minimum score of 543/677
- UNIcert II
Please note that the test scores should be no older than 3 years at the start of your studies.
If you hold a previous degree that was taught entirely in English, you can submit it in place of a language test.
How to Apply
Please note that the application process varies depending on where your prior degree was obtained.
Applicants with a Foreign Degree
If you hold a degree from an institution outside of Germany, you must apply via Uni-assist between February 1 and April 15.
Uni-assist is a service provider that reviews the application documents of international applicants. Once your application has been processed by Uni-assist, it will be forwarded to Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences for applicant selection.
Please note that Uni-assist charges a processing fee. Your application will only be processed after the fee has been paid and all required documents have been submitted to Uni-assist.

Applicants with a German Degree
If you hold a degree from a German institution, you must apply directly to Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences between February 1 and April 15.

Applicants must submit the following documents as part of their application:
- University Degree and Transcripts (certified copies)
- English Language Certificate
- Most Current CV
- Portfolio
- The portfolio must include three (3) examples of your previous design and development projects.
- Please submit your portfolio as a single PDF document.
- Include an attestation stating that the projects in the portfolio are your own work.
The M.A. Design Entrepreneurship program admits a maximum of 25 students per year. If the number of applicants meeting the admission requirements exceeds the available spots, the selection process will be based on the following criteria:
- Grade Point Average (GPA) of the applicant's previous degree.
- Portfolio quality, evaluated on:
- Presentation skills
- Problem-Solving abilities
- Innovative thinking
