Our vision

Making the future more livable

The BMSS Faculty strives to align its teaching and research with the major challenges facing society, the economy and the world of work, namely working and living in a world

  • that is shaped by European, global and intercultural relationships,
  • by digitalization and artificial intelligence,
  • that requires intelligent cooperation between different disciplines and
  • that requires sustainable development and the ability to further personal development against the backdrop of constant change.

The people we train should be successful in the job market and be able to take control of their own careers.

As a faculty, we therefore work together in an interdisciplinary manner in teaching and research in order to understand TODAY and shape TOMORROW.

Our mission

Teaching, learning and researching together on a cosmopolitan campus

Our mission is to offer first-class degree programs and continuing education formats as well as qualification measures (including doctorates) for scientists that combine academic excellence with action-oriented training. We promote interdisciplinary research and the development of innovation in order to develop solutions for the challenges of our future. Through our diverse partnerships and our commitment to society, we promote science in practical application.

Teaching in small groups, a wide range of language options, semesters abroad and intensively supervised project and final theses are what we offer students. Learning takes place on a cosmopolitan campus. We are convinced that an international campus reflects the world in all its diversity and is therefore a good place for all teachers, learners, researchers and employees here to act reflectively and sensitively in a digitalized and globally networked society.

Our research is inspired by fundamental questions about how a transformation in society, the health and social services and the world of work can succeed. We address issues early on in order to address them using scientific methods so that

  • people can lead healthier and better lives,
  • resources are used correctly and
  • organizations can structure themselves in such a way that they are successful.

The Faculty aims to achieve its goals on the basis of freedom, equality, democracy, tolerance, humanity and international cooperation. It is committed to respecting these values ??and to assuming its responsibility for society and the environment.
