Development quality in study and teaching

Our course portfolio is the heart of the Faculty of Business Management and Social Sciences (WiSo). Prospective students are guided by it when they make decisions about their choice of subject and university location – and, ultimately, about a special personal stage of education in their lives. The faculty’s experience in teaching theory and practice, as well as in research and development, shapes our course portfolio. International course content and study locations are taken into account just as much as the application-oriented design of our degree programs and the appropriate addition of online teaching and learning formats. Of course, all of this has changed over the years and will continue to do so: This is because the course portfolio offered at the faculty is constantly evolving in line with professional, work-related, and social developments.

This continuous process follows an overall concept that we at the Faculty of Business Management and Social Sciences refer to as development quality in study and teaching: An understanding of academic education as both subject-specific and social education that underpins all activities, an orientation towards a working structure and culture that involves faculty and students alike, and practicable instruments ensure this claim to the continuous improvement of our course portfolio. A lively campus culture as a community conducive to teaching and learning with personal encounters and as a co-designed place of education is our faculty’s guiding concept.

We invite you to explore the topics and more detailed sections here, offering you a better understanding of the development quality in study and teaching at the Faculty of Business Management and Social Sciences. And it goes without saying that our activities are part of the university-wide understanding of the quality of the course portfolio, which you can learn more about from the Academic Affairs Department of the University Steering Committee of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.

Our central services such as the LearningCenter, the eLearning Competence Center, and WiSo-IT provide essential support for the enhancement of the teaching and learning community at the faculty in terms of higher education didactics.
